My qualifications include Masters degrees in Counseling, and in Human Development and Learning from UNC- Charlotte. My experience includes working with individuals to help resolve problems, work through adjustment disorders, depression, anxiety, trauma, addiction and various mental health and emotional conditions. I also have case management and human services experience from the years providing social services assistance to families and children from a variety of backgrounds with a wide range of presenting problems and concerns. My aim as a counselor is to provide unconditional support for you to work at your own pace to reach your goals. I align myself with the Cognitive Behavioral Therapeutic approach, which emphasizes meaning in one’s life, his/her responsibility in relationships and with self, and the capacity to express oneself in his/her own unique way. I am aware there is not one counseling approach or theory that works for every client and for this reason I will respect and honor my clients’ personal and cultural values and strive to keep them in mind throughout the counseling process.
