Katie Oberg began her career as a social worker in 2009, and opened her private psychotherapy practice in 2018. Katie loves to help her clients feel as comfortable as possible in session, while helping them stay focused on their therapy goals. Her style of therapy is warm and informal while still staying focused on ethics and high-quality care. Her primary focus is complex trauma, dissociation, and management of chronic illness. Many of her clients may have tried other kinds of therapy before, but they are finding themselves wanting to identify and heal the root of their distress that may originate from negative childhood experiences, medical trauma, or perhaps an autoimmune diagnosis. Katie offers a number of evidence-based modalities of trauma treatment such as Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Internal Family Systems (IFS). She loves to work together with her clients to help them find the unique approach that will work for them to ultimately heal their trauma wounds, while still prioritizing listening to the physical body’s needs. Katie has always been a horse lover, and has been dreaming of offering equine assisted therapy services since she was 8 years old. She is so excited to share her therapy sessions with her equine partners, and to help her clients experience the natural healing ability that horses have.
