I am a Licensed Professional Counselor informed by attachment theory, mindfulness, and internal family systems. Clients describe my approach as warm and nonjudgmental, sharing statements including "(Kaitlyn) built a space where I can be honest." My practice is rooted in the belief we all deserve meaning, purpose, and opportunity to unlock full potential. I was school-based as a special educator, behavior specialist, and counselor for six years prior to starting my independent practice. I continue to utilize knowledge around mild-moderate disabilities such as ADD, ADHD, and anxiety disorders. I have worked with individuals, families, teens, and children presenting a variety of needs. I thrive in supporting those experiencing life changes and challenges, aiming to improve feelings of anxiety, and improve relationships. My expertise in the education system, specifically special education, can support many school and family-based concerns. Working together is a learning process in which initial sessions are dedicated to ensuring we are a strong fit for the work needed. Priority is put on intentions, goal setting, and needs for therapy. I strive to create a safe and comfortable space for healing, processing, and recovery. With a creative lens, we work together to navigate hardship and traumas.
