Hello! I’m Karen Cummings. I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW). I use a cognitive behavioral therapy approach (CBT) to help you explore the relationship between thoughts, feelings and actions, and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), to further focus on the reality of our actions in daily life and learn additional new skills in how we choose to respond. I am certified in Theta Healing energy work, a method of meditation that I often incorporate in practice as a coping technique in promoting emotional well-being, and in complimenting an overall approach to mental health care. I am passionate about creating a safe and empathetic space that empowers the ‘self’ and promotes mindfulness as part of the journey in nurturing the whole person. I am an ‘out-of-the-box’ thinker and I often use humor in our work together. I am accepting new clients ages 18+ and up. I am available by appointment Mondays (8am to 7pm), Tuesdays (8am to 7pm), and Fridays (8am to 2pm), via telehealth only.
