Introduction

Sexual abuse, domestic abuse, and other traumatic experiences impact us for a lifetime. I know what it feels like to go through these things and to search for genuine help and unable to find it, unable to find that counselor that can connect on a cultural and spiritual level. This is one reason I wanted to become a counselor…to touch lives and make a difference in the field of mental health especially in the minority and underserved populations.
