Kate Perkins is a Licensed Professional Counselor, certified Play Therapist, trained in EMDR. Kate specializes in helping adults, find healing, achieve growth, and thrive. Kate received her undergraduate degree at the University of Denver and her master’s degree in Counseling Psychology at Avila University. Kate has extensive post-graduate training in outpatient clinics, psychiatric hospitals, and post-graduate training programs. Kate has worked in inpatient psychiatric facilities, outpatient clinic settings, as well as developed and maintained an outpatient group therapy program. Throughout her journey as a therapist, Kate has sought training in Play Therapy, Sandtray Therapy, EMDR, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), and Trauma focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy (TF-CBT). These therapies are effective in helping adults to manage BIG feelings, anxiety, trauma, eating disorders, depression, grief and loss, interpersonal struggles, and life transitions. Kate offers a safe and warm environment to help clients connect with their value and worth; true healing comes from the courage to be vulnerable and to share your story. Also, Kate specializes in helping clients overcome fears, self-doubts, and pressures to accomplish their dreams. She works collaboratively with clients to help identify their closest-held goals, dreams, and needs. In therapy, Kate will create a tailored and individualized treatment plan to achieve your goals. Through courage and vulnerability, we will help you achieve those goals. In Kate’s free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, toddler baby girl, two step-children, family and friends. She loves spending time with her dog, trying new restaurants, practicing yoga, reading, and traveling.
