Are you a new couple, newly married, or navigating life transitions? Do you need support integrating as a unit while still maintaining your individuality? Do you want to understand each other’s expectations? I am passionate about working with couples and would love to support you in achieving your goals. I work with couples who are navigating the balance of holding onto their individual identity while embracing their relational identity with their partner. Sessions focus on providing psychoeducation and interventions around attachment, identity, vulnerability, communication, trust, emotional regulation, and distress tolerance. I am a down to earth, warm, yet direct therapist who strives to make you feel heard, seen, and validated for your experience. I provide understanding for clients as to why behaviors or patterns might be occurring as I believe it is very important to know why the behaviors are occurring in order to prevent the patterns from resurfacing. After providing empathy and understanding for the situations occurring, I then begin to challenge clients to implement learned skills and techniques to reach goals. I believe understanding the context in which a client lives is imperative as this will guide what treatment, skills, and techniques will work in their particular family or environment. My Experience: Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), M.S. in Marriage and Family Therapy from Northwestern University, Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, Certified Divorce Mediator, Adjunct Professor in Chicago, Individual and Group Supervisor at The Family Institute at Northwestern University, Candidate for Approved Supervisor of AAMFT
