I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate in the state of North Carolina. I received my bachelor’s in psychology from Florida International University, and my master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling from Walden University. I have experience treating children, adolescents, and adults presenting with a broad spectrum of mental health issues and personal challenges. I specialize in, and am passionate about treating women experiencing perinatal mood disorders such as postpartum anxiety and depression. My reason for focusing on this population is because I can relate to them on a personal level. Everyone is different. We all have our own perspectives of life and the world, concerns, and goals. That’s why it is essential for therapy to be tailored to the individual client. I customize treatment for my clients’ based on their own needs and experiences. I strive to create a safe, welcoming environment for my clients’ where they feel they are able to be their authentic selves in session. I tend to incorporate aspects of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectic Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness, and Internal Family Systems Theory (IFS) into clients’ treatment. These specific styles allow us to address negative core beliefs and thinking patterns, as well as harmful behaviors, and develop skills to create healthier internal dialogue and beliefs. With two young children, it can be a challenge to get some time for myself! When I do get the chance to have some time to myself, I enjoy running, yoga, reading a good book, and spending time with my family.
