Introduction

Hi! My name is Katie, I am a Licensed Independent Social Worker with Supervisory designation in Ohio (LISW-S), currently accepting new clients over the age of 18 for individual psychotherapy in the Columbus area, and across Ohio & Pennsylvania via telehealth. I have been working in the mental health field since 2005. I obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Development & Family Studies from Penn State in 2005 & my MSW (Master of Social Work) from Marywood University in 2009. My work experience over the years has focused on providing Cognitive Behavioral & other therapeutic interventions including EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) to assist in managing symptoms of depression, anxiety, & other mental health concerns including chronic stress & trauma. I have worked professionally as a therapist since 2009, with much of my work providing therapeutic interventions in community mental health settings for more than 10 years for children, adolescents, & adults with Autism and other developmental & intellectual disabilities. My current specialization is focused on the use of Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) & other trauma informed modalities to assist in healing from childhood & recent traumatic events & stress. My priorities as a counselor include providing a compassionate & non judgmental space for all. I have focused much of my 20 year practice on providing an inclusive space based in LGBTQIA2SP+ affirming care, Social Justice and Anti Racism & Anti discriminatory values. Please feel free to reach out to ask any questions to see if we may be a good match to work together & to schedule an initial appointment. I am currently able to meet in person in Galena, Ohio & provide telehealth appointments throughout all of Ohio & Pennsylvania. Currently, I am able to accept all insurances noted below in Ohio. I am able to accept self pay & most Optum/United, Aetna, Cigna/Evernorth, Capital Blue Cross of PA, & Medical Mutual plans in Pennsylvania. Please reach out to confirm I am in network with your plan or contact your carrier directly and provide my NPI# (1295317931) to check. 55 Minute sessions are billed at $150. I am currently able to bill with several insurance plans only using Headway (https://headway.co/) and can assist with confirming in network/out of network benefits as needed. I work part time as an independent contractor with this billing company which assists therapists (at no cost) with processing insurance claims with more insurance carriers, making it easier & more convenient to accept some plans if the use of insurance is desired and/or needed for financial reasons, as is the case for many of us. Headway's rate per sessions are typically somewhat higher for some plans than my own (all depending on your individual plan) if billing directly. I am no longer accepting new clients with Anthem/BCBS or Cigna/Evernorth plans in Ohio. I am able to accept several Medicaid plans associated with the carriers noted. If you have specific questions about your plan, please reach out to confirm network details. Please be aware that billing with all insurances does require us to provide a diagnosis on record to them, in addition to additional treatment plan information if audited which can be reviewed as needed. I am not currently able to complete disability, FMLA paperwork, or Emotional Support Animal letters for new clients. A minimum period of several months in treatment is encouraged typically before completing as appropriate. Referral sources can be provided for some providers or organizations to assist if needed sooner. Please contact me regarding individual EMDR intensives and pricing.
