Dr. Kathleen Camacho is a Spanish bilingual and bicultural psychologist with expertise in a variety of evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Behavioral Parent Training, Exposure and Response Prevention, Organizational Skills Training, and Behavioral Activation. Additionally, she is trained in Integrative Behavioral Couple Therapy. Though Dr. Camacho no longer provides comprehensive Dialectical Behavior Therapy, she incorporates skills into treatment when appropriate. Dr. Camacho specializes in working with children, adolescents, and adults, experiencing a wide array of difficulties, including depression, anxiety (generalized anxiety disorder, social phobia, specific phobia, separation anxiety, panic disorder), obsessive-compulsive disorder, and challenges (like those above) associated with neurodevelopmental differences (attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder and autism spectrum disorder). She also works with couples who feel stuck in problematic patterns of communication and would like tools to understand and communicate better. Her approach is collaborative, compassionate, and focused on doing what works. This includes understanding the various contexts and identities we hold while grappling with the systems at play that can exacerbate and maintain challenges. Dr. Camacho’s ultimate goal for those she works with is: to create a life with purpose and meaning that is worth living despite its ups and downs.
