I am passionate about helping individuals improve their quality of life. Sometimes we have such uncomfortable feelings that we don't know how we will make it through the day. Sometimes really bad things happen to us and around us. Sometimes we feel alone and not heard. Sometimes our bodies and minds take over and we feel like we have no control over our lives. We try to understand and control the symptoms: the anxiety, depression, anger, headaches, insomnia, stomach pain and fatigue. Sound familiar? I believe that understanding the mind-body connection is the first step to improving your mental health. Learning to take control and build resilience is an important step to creating the change you may be looking for. My treatment strategy is to provide an initial assessment and create treatment goals using a collaborative approach to best meet your needs. We will use a variety of techniques and skills drawn from recognized therapeutic modalities including but not limited to: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma Focused, Strength Based, Psychoeducation, Art Therapy, and Integrative Health. I am a licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in both New Hampshire and Massachusetts and Registered Art Therapist. I completed a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s degree in clinical Mental Health Counseling and Art Therapy at Lesley University. I served in United States Army on active duty for twenty years working both as a Mental Health Counselor and Career Counselor. I enjoy working with adults and children ages 5 and up, couples, families, and groups. I have experience across a variety of treatment settings including in-patient and out-patient, community mental health, school-based and private practice. In my free time I enjoy traveling, painting, weightlifting, hiking, kayaking and swimming in the ocean. I am currently accepting Cigna, Aetna and Anthem Insurance in NH. I am in office in Concord, NH Mondays and Tuesdays and am in Gloucester, MA location on Wednesdays and Thursday and now accepting Blue Cross Blue Sheild of MA. I also offer flexible telehealth hours.
