Introduction

I have experience working with a variety of presenting problems. While it is hard to admit that it is ok to not be ok, it takes courage to accept help/support in making lasting changes. Many mental health struggles are the result of trying to be strong for too long. I hope to work with motivated clients that want to change and are ready to work hard, dive deep, and have a teachable spirit. I love working with clients who are honest, realistic, want to have a voice, and are ready to make their goals a reality. I will provide encouragement, support, empathy, empowerment, insights, and unconditional acceptance. I am deeply passionate about helping people learn how to navigate their own life, possibly for the first time in their life. I approach clients from a biopsychosocial-spiritual perspective and believe that most presenting problems are rooted in attachment, shame, & trauma. I explore how to thoughtfully respond to life situations instead of emotionally react. The past may impact our present, but it does not determine our future. Counseling provided a firm foundation for me during some of the hardest times in my life. I am a passionate and direct communicator and I believe these traits, along with my life experiences, guide my work with clients to meet specific needs and long-term challenges.
