Introduction

I am a Texas native, and I have a Texas LPC license. I obtained a master's degree in counseling with an undergraduate degree in psychology and have been trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I have worked previously in a mental health facility and a drug and alcohol treatment facilities in a correctional treatment setting. I have received training in Cognitive Processing Therapy to work with PTSD and trauma. I have worked with clients with the dual diagnoses of substance abuse and a diagnosable mental illness. I have a holistic approach to my counseling because I believe that every person is an individual and what might work for one person does not mean it will work for all. We keep working until the client and I together find what will bring about improvement for that person. My counseling style is down-to-earth, warm, and nonthreatening, but, at the same time, I can be firm regarding boundaries. I also believe in treating my clients the way I would want to be treated. It is my belief that everyone has the right to a more content and rewarding life.
