Introduction

I am Kathy L. Fortner, a Board Certified Clinical Counselor, Board Certified Life Coach, and Board Certified Tele-health provider. Services are provided to EAP (Employee Assistance), Consulting (Business and Individuals) and Life Coaching clients. I have been a clinical counselor for over 25 years, having worked in Primary Care Practices as a clinician in a counseling private practice, university counseling centers, and VA CBOC. At this time, I am only seeing EAP Clients, those interested in Life, Wellness, and Executive Coaching through a secure tele-mental health platform. Consulting services for businesses and their employees would be on-site for a specific and defined need. During March, 2022, I retired from a full time clinical counseling practice, then decided to return to work part-time with a select group of companies and private business consulting. My approach to working with EAP and Coaching clients is an individualized, personal method utilizing evidenced based treatment methods. Areas of specialization are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Coaching, Solution Focused Counseling, TA, Adlerian, Gestalt, and Reality Therapy. Conflict Resolution and Mediation strategies are utilized for business and consulting situations. Clients, and their families, who have received services in my practice reported improvement having obtained a tool box of skills to use after their time ended with me in their counseling or coaching sessions. This has been, and is my continued goal to have my clients use learned skills which can be utilized throughout their life. I will see adolescents aged 18 years and above, college students, adults, couples, families, senior citizens through individual, scheduled EAP or coaching sessions.
