Kathy Woerner is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (GA CSW 007579) in the state of Georgia. She graduated from top 10 ranked School of Social Work at Boston University in 2016 with her MSW and from Lynchburg College in 1997 with her Bachelor's of Science in Psychology where she focused on the then new field of gerontology. Kathy worked professionally in the corporate arena for 20+ years covering the industries of Human Resources and Insurance, both domestic and internationally. She returned to school while her children were still in diapers to pursue her desire to work directly with individuals living this roller coaster called life. Kathy enjoys working with individuals facing personal struggles, career transitions, anxiety, stress, and any life transition. Clinically, Kathy is trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Financial Social Work (FSW). Kathy has published work with the GA Society of Clinical Social Work (www.gscsw.org ) and presently serves as the chair of the LMSW Committee of this organization. Kathy has worked with homeless mothers in the North Fulton area for five years and has developed a financial behavior change program that has demonstrated successes for financial stability of these families. Kathy is a member of the National Association of Social Workers, The Metro Atlanta Therapist Network, The Georgia Society of Clinical Social Workers, Psychology Today, and Open Path Collective. Kathy continues to volunteer her time within her community at North Fulton Community Charities, The Place, North Fulton Improvement Network, and NorthPoint Community Church. In her free time, Kathy loves spending time with her two elementary aged children and husband on the beautiful hiking trails of North GA. Additionally, she enjoys playing with her dog Lola, writing, reading, and spending time at the lake or the beach.
