Katie received her Bachelor of Arts degree from St. Mary’s College of Maryland in Psychology with a minor in Educational Studies. She holds her Master of Social Work degree from Salisbury University and has obtained LMSW licensure. She is a member of Psi Chi, The International Honor Society in Psychology. She has worked with children and adolescents in both public and private agency settings. Katie is experienced in working on adaptive and social skills with children with autism spectrum disorders, as well as in individual counseling with children and adolescents to address various mental health concerns. Katie is trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), which aids children and adolescents in processing grief and trauma. Katie is actively enhancing her skills through training, learning from her clients from a variety of different backgrounds and populations, and utilizing an integrative approach to mental health treatment. She is working towards certification in Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), which addresses child behavior concerns through focusing on parent-child bond and teaching caregivers helpful skills. As a licensed social worker, Katie’s approach to therapy is to offer you support and strategies that are meant to meet your specific goals.
