Introduction

Beginning therapy can feel like trusting someone to catch you as you lean off a cliff. The journey toward healing often begins with what feels like an enormous leap and being the person on the other side of this fall is a job I take seriously and am honored to do. As your therapist, I will work alongside you to figure out what will help relieve the distressing symptoms you are currently experiencing. There will be times when alleviating the pain is simple, but in the times when it is not, I will not cheapen your wounds with empty words or solutions. When it comes to healing, I believe that when we can unpack the experiences we have had in our lives, we can make sense of the way we are currently experiencing ourselves, others, and the world. We are inherently good, but life has a way of making us question this truth. My job as your therapist is to walk with you through the story of your life to make sense of what has happened, how it is causing you joy and sorrow, and come up with ways to help you walk with integrity in the fullness of all that you are and all that you are carrying. In me, you will find a therapist who is not afraid of your darkness, who delights in your uniqueness, and who desires to see you as you truly are. I believe we are built for healing and I will relentlessly pursue it with you. My hope is that every one of my clients will end their time with me feeling like they have been deeply seen, understood, accepted, and loved. I am an artist and thinker at heart and am highly motivated by beauty and togetherness. From childhood, I have been endlessly fascinated by what makes all of us so unique. I embrace all differences in people and joy pours out of me when I am able to know others. The work of counseling is meaningful for me because I get to create an environment where people know that their full selves will be invited and celebrated. My commitment to the work of my own healing is what qualifies me to journey with others as they do the same. As your therapist, you can trust that I am never asking you to go somewhere that I have not already been or would not be willing to go for the sake of personal growth and freedom.
