Hi there! I’m Kayla, a trauma-informed therapist dedicated to helping people heal and grow through life’s challenges. My therapeutic approach is rooted in a combination of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), but I also incorporate other evidence-based methods like Seeking Safety, Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and I’m currently becoming trained in Written Exposure Therapy (WET). I have a deep passion for working with individuals who have been incarcerated, supporting them as they navigate the complex emotions and experiences that come with trauma, reintegration, and healing. I believe in the power of resilience, and I’m committed to helping my clients develop healthier coping skills, find their voices, and build a sense of empowerment as they work toward a more fulfilling life. In our work together, my goal is to create a space where you feel heard, understood, and supported. I know healing can be challenging, and I approach every session with empathy, patience, and a belief in your ability to overcome obstacles. Whether you’re working through trauma, emotional regulation, or life transitions, I’ll be there to provide you with practical tools and a compassionate space for growth. When I’m not in the therapy room, you’ll likely find me immersed in Marvel comics (I'm a big fan of the stories and characters—they’re often about resilience and personal transformation!). I’m also a cat lover, and I truly believe that, like our feline companions, we all need time to recharge and care for ourselves.
