Hello! I'm Kayla and I've been focused on psychology, sociology, and clinical mental health since I graduated with my BA degree in 2013 and my MA degree in 2019. In session, I like to take a person-centered approach where the client leads the conversation. My goal is to help each individual work through their seasons of life by allowing for a safe, comfortable, and non-judgmental atmosphere to share and process thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Finding the ability to cope with life’s struggles through identifying strengths and positivity is my goal. I’ve worked with individuals of all ages who have struggled with grief and loss, anxiety, depression, PTSD, bipolar disorder, personality disorders, LGBTQI+ issues, and addiction. I like to use rational-emotive behavior therapy, solution-focused brief therapy, as well as utilizing mindfulness-based cognitive therapy. Taking that first step to reach out for help is tough, and I'm thankful that it led you here. Counseling is a journey that betters your mental health, which--in turn--can positively affect other areas of your life. In therapy, the focus is on you, your path, and how to get to where you want to go.
