Kel Mathews, LMFT (she/her), is the Director of Mental Health at the LGBTQ Center OC and founder of the private practice Liberation Work. Since earning her Master’s Degree at San Diego State University, Kel has worked with at-risk youth involved with CPS and Juvenile Probation, and as a psychiatric emergency responder with the San Diego Police Department. Kel is a solution-focused, strength based, therapist who is dedicated to making a positive impact on clients and their overall well-being. She has an innate ability to connect and relate to individuals from various ethnic and cultural backgrounds with expertise working with QTBIPOC folx. Kel believes her job as a therapist is to be a container and hold all the things too difficult for others to manage alone.
