I have a firm belief that “Everyone is doing the best they can, with what they have.” You are using your resources and the skills that you currently have to the best of your current ability. Therapy provides more resources and skills; this allows for more opportunities to make different choices. Learning a new skill or seeing a different perspective can be the key to unlock the potential that you currently have but have not been able to use. It is important to look at therapy as a learning experience and a way to have support in attempting new ways of living. My focus is on providing an opportunity to learn coping and problem-solving skills that you may have missed or did not quite develop enough to be effective. It is essential that we partner to look at the barriers that have impeded your progress while working on this alone in the past. I work with people with trauma, mood disorders, personality disorders, thought disorders, and substance use issues. If you are seeking treatment to heal from your past or improve your future, I can provide the tools that can empower you to take control of your outcomes. I provide trauma informed treatment and use many modalities including EMDR (Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing) ACT (Acceptance and commitment therapy), DBT (Dialectical behavior therapy), CBT (Cognitive behavioral therapy) and mind mapping. I prefer to work with adults that have the willingness and desire to change their current circumstances. I have been in the therapy field for 20+ years and have been grateful to be on the personal journey with so many people. I believe that it is through compassion and techniques that you can get the life that you want and need.
