Maybe you've had the experience of feeling stuck because you can't seem to work through your problems. Perhaps your relationship isn't working as well as it once did, and you're at a loss as to how to work through it together. Do you want to learn more about yourself and gain a better understanding of your own behaviors, feelings, and thoughts so you can thrive? Therapy can help. The clients I do my best work with are ones who want to work on their relationships. I love working with all types of couples, and I specialize working with couples in conflict, blended families, and premarital counseling. I additionally love working with individuals working through life transitions, creating healthy relationships, communicating with others, and self-relationship work. My clients don't come to therapy to have someone nod and agree with them on everything... that's not worth their time or money. They want real help because they are dealing with relationship issues, co-parenting/parenting, divorce, infertility, life transitions, and other painful situations. Are you looking for a place where you can be truly heard? Do you need a safe space to navigate through a difficult relationship, traumatic even, or painful period of life? I can help you. I grew up with a natural curiosity to understand all the different ways people experience life. Being a therapist is a second career for me. Prior to therapy, I was a teacher and head volleyball coach at McKinney Boyd High School. In 2022, my husband retired as the Principal at McKinney High School and we purchased a Primrose Preschool franchise. During my time working in education with children from every age and their families, I saw the positive power that good therapy can have on a person’s mental, physical, and relational health. In mid-life, I decided to pursue my desire to become a psychotherapist. I returned to school to pursue my Master's degree in Marriage, Couples, and Family Counseling at Lamar University. I received my Bachelor's degree in Business Education and was a Division 1 student-athlete at Middle Tennessee State University. I have found my joy in becoming a psychotherapist and helping others navigate life’s toughest seasons with care, without judgment, and working collaboratively towards your therapeutic goals. A native Texan, I was raised in the North Texas area and have lived in McKinney since 2006. My husband and I have been married for over 10 years and I am a stepmother to two wonderful adult children and have two biological kids, thanks to IVF. We are currently enjoying parenting all four children in every stage of life.
