Introduction

Hello! My name is Kelsey Rumpf, and I am a Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW) practicing in the West Des Moines area. I am a Des Moines native and Hawkeye alum, graduating with both my bachelors and master's from the University of Iowa (Des Moines campus). I have been working with children and families for over 20 years, my passion stemming from being the oldest of three and loving, supporting, and learning from my youngest sibling who has special needs. I began my clinical work in 2016 and over the years have transitioned from serving clients in a community mental health agency, to a group private practice, to my very own solo private practice - launched August of 2023! Thank you for taking the first step for yourself and considering me to join you/your child on your journey at Kelsey Therapy, PLLC (Professional Limited Liability Company). I take a client-centered approach, meeting you and/or your child where you are at and molding a treatment plan to meet your needs. I provide psychoeducation and place emphasis on rapport building in the beginning of our work; as someone once told me, "In order for there to be correction there must first be connection". I use directive and non-directive client centered play/expressive therapy techniques (including but not limited to art, music, dance) in addition to traditional talk therapy (which include but are not limited to cognitive behavioral therapy, solution focused therapy, mindfulness, attachment theory, and family systems). If you have any questions at all, please do not hesitate to reach out! Thank you again for your consideration in my therapy services and I hope to hear from you soon.
