Introduction

Hello, I’m Dr. Kelsey Shogren, a licensed clinical psychologist in California. Hair Pulling and Skin Picking Therapy I specialize in and am passionate about treating hair pulling (trichotillomania) and skin-picking (excoriation disorder). My personal journey with trichotillomania motivated me to go to graduate school to become a clinician to work with people who experience these body-focused repetitive behaviors (BFRBs). I regularly attend the conferences of the Trichotillomania Learning Center and am knowledgeable about the latest research, as well as being part of a network of the leading providers in this field. PTSD Therapy I have significant experience treating PTSD. At the San Francisco VA Medical Center, Northern California VA Healthcare System, and the Iowa City VA Healthcare System, I have worked with Veterans, first responders, medics, and civilians experiencing symptoms from a traumatic event. I specialize in war trauma, combat trauma, moral injury, and sexual assault. I have expertise working with women in particular – I completed my post-doctoral fellowship at the Women’s Clinic of the San Francisco VA.
