Brief Introduction: Hello! My name is Kevin Barr, aka New Tree Counseling PLLC. I’ve been in practice for 14 years in several settings with a broad spectrum of clients. Currently my focus is individual and group treatment for adults with ADHD, supervision for LPCC and LMFT candidates and providing therapy for other mental health professionals. My style: I'm not a coddler, but I'm not cold. I'm straight up, but loaded with empathy and compassion. I try not to take myself too seriously and use humor when appropriate. I'm a flawed human like anyone else and will keep it as real as possible. My clinical focus: I’ve spent the last couple of years developing a treatment approach for ADHD. My approach includes psycho-education, tips and tricks to tackle all executive function deficits, a guide for navigating ADHD’s effects on relationships, a blueprint for identifying and combatting the several types of procrastination, identification of barriers to completing tasks and assistance in removing these barriers, maintenance plans for repetitive/boring tasks and a place to develop a custom approach to your ADHD. Other clinical areas of expertise: In addition to ADHD work, I tend to gravitate to childhood relationship patterns and how they show up in the present. I work with you on identifying values and matching these with your behaviors. I enjoy illuminating blind spots and challenging views of yourself where your ego might be fixed. I also work with C-PTSD clients on closing their safety gaps - aka learning to trust others again and build meaningful attachments.
