Introduction

Dr. kevin Cubala is a licensed clinical psychologist and a certified alcohol and drug counselor. He specializes in the treatment of adolescents, adults and families. His work with children and adolescents includes behavioral challenges, anxiety, depression, anger management, drug and alcohol abuse, neurodevelopmental disorders such as ADHD and oppositional disorders. Dr. Cubala's work with adults includes anxiety, anger management, depression, transitions in life, adjustment to medical conditions, alcohol and drug use. Dr. Cubala’s career started in 2001 working in a residential substance abuse program. From there he began his Masters then Doctoral work at Illinois School of Professional Psychology in Chicago. Within the program he interned in several inner-city schools of Chicago; working with children, teens and their families. While interning he also worked at an outpatient substance abuse clinic for teens in Chicago. Post-graduation he moved to Guam, working at the Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse in the inpatient and outpatient programs. Dr. Cubala moved back to the states and began working with the geriatric population in nursing homes, assisted living and independent living facilities for a few years. Dr. Cubala transitioned into the private practice environment focusing his attention back to working with children, adolescents and their families. Over the course of his career, Dr. Cubala has run social skills, confidence building groups, music and art therapy. As mentioned prior, he has experience in multiple treatment settings and enjoys collaborating with physicians, school staff, attorneys, and other allied health professionals. In his leisure time, Dr. Cubala trains Brazilian Jiu Jitsu regularly, practices yoga, enjoys single track mountain biking and is working on meditation. He also spends time with his dogs, listens to music, plays percussion, watches sports, spends time with family and friends, volunteers at his church and likes to travel when possible.
