Hi, I'm KG. I have a gentle and relational presence and specialize in supporting people who have experienced trauma (including abuse, intimate partner violence, sexual assault, and traumatic loss), and/or are navigating a life crisis. I love helping people regain their sense of power so they can get back in touch with themselves and what matters most to them. I also enjoy working with people who want to address family of origin and attachment concerns, queer and gender-diverse identity, alcohol and other drug use, and new or chronic health conditions. I approach therapy from a trauma-informed, and anti-oppressive framework; I understand that we are all impacted by our intersecting identities and the environments that shape us, and that our identities and environments grant us relative privileges. Additionally, I use EMDR, parts work, and somatic approaches in my practice. I believe in relationships as a healing force. As bell hooks said, "rarely, if ever, are any of us healed in isolation. Healing is an act of communion." I hold our relationship with great reverence as we process and make meaning from our experiences together. I graduated with my MSW from the University of Montana in 2022. During my MSW program, I worked at a child advocacy center, and at UM's Student Advocacy Resource Center (SARC). I recently completed a two-year post-MSW fellowship in Clinical Social Work at UC Berkeley's counseling center, where I was part of their modified Intensive Outpatient Program (mIOP). I work with adults and children ages 10+ and I'm accepting new clients for telehealth sessions.
