As a first-generation immigrant from China with years of experience working across diverse cultures, I bring curiosity and sensitivity to every encounter. I understand how challenging it can get to be in between cultures, feeling that you don’t neatly fit into either one or the other. My clients are often high achievers who attended elite universities, struggling with a persistent sense of inadequacy and dissatisfaction. Regardless of their accomplishments, there is an enduring feeling that something is missing or an acute fear of failure. By holding a compassionate space for you to connect with the parts of yourself that feel unseen and unloved, you will begin to make peace with the critical voice within and gain a greater sense of self-acceptance while moving your life in the direction of your values. Using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Psychodynamic therapy, and Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), I can help you learn practical skills to reduce symptoms of anxiety, dissatisfaction, and depression, resolve inner conflict, and increase assertiveness and a sense of fulfillment in your life. As a couples therapist, I work with couples on improving communications, navigating conflicts, cultivating deep mutual understanding, and building secure attachment within the relationship. I offer therapy in English, Cantonese and Mandarin.
