Hello, my name is Kierra Whitman, a Licensed Professional Counselor of West Virginia. I specialize in working with teenagers and young adults as they navigate and process life events related, but not limited to Trauma ; physical, sexual, mental, or emotional abuse; racial identity; and life transitions. As a clinician, I am an advocate and skilled provider in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR); and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). I also utilize different tools and techniques associated with Art Therapy , Brainspotting and Internal Family Systems (IFS). For couples, I am trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and a Prepare/Enrich facilitator. I graduated from West Virginia University in 2017 with a Masters in Clinical Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling. I am a mother, a remarried widow, a volleyball coach, and artist. I am an ally and advocate for BIPOC, the LGBTQ+ community, and sex workers.
