Helping people heal from trauma is important to me. It involves creating a safe space where, someone can reflect on past hurt and current aspects of life. The therapy process has the power to guide you towards introspection, enabling you to discover purpose, strength, healing and acceptance. By feeling secure enough to face your inner world, your external world will inevitably improve. My therapeutic approach is person-centered and trauma informed. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR) are the basis of my practice. Yet every person is different and has unique needs in therapy, so those needs inform an individualized approach. I am a professionally Licensed Clinical Social Worker, with a Masters degree in Social Work from East Carolina University, and a Bachelors in Arts - Sociology from University of North Carolina- Chapel Hill. I have been licensed by the North Carolina State Board since 2009. Fully trained and Certified by EMDR International Association in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (2022).
