Introduction

Kimberly A. Lovelock, PsyD, is a clinical psychologist licensed to provide psychological services in the state of Pennsylvania. Dr. Lovelock recognizes that there are many steps involved in making lasting changes in our lives, and often the first step is the hardest, especially the step toward therapy. She is passionate about helping individuals understand and overcome the core issues that are negatively impacting their lives and employs a trauma-informed, wholistic, and collaborative approach to treatment to create an environment that allows the next steps of healing to happen. Dr. Lovelock specializes in working with individuals experiencing anxiety, mood disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder (complex and developmental), interpersonal/relationship issues, difficulty adjusting through life transitions (e.g., new marriage, divorce, separation, grief and loss, etc.), issues involving spirituality nature and uses the breadth of her training and experience to experience new levels of freedom and re-engage in life. Dr. Lovelock also believes in the power of effective couple’s counseling, when appropriate, to help recognize and break down barriers to emotional intimacy within a relationship. In treatment, she realizes the importance of engaging the whole person in the process and uses her knowledge of health psychology and spiritually integrated psychotherapy to help understand, recognize, and overcome the psychological sequela of medical and spiritual issues. Dr. Lovelock is committed to the use of evidence-based and empirically supported treatment approaches. As such, she has gained clinical training and experience in the practice of Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR); she considers these her primary modalities of treatment. Dr. Lovelock has worked in behavioral healthcare since 2000 and has gained a wide range of experience, having worked in virtually all levels of behavioral healthcare throughout her career. She completed her graduate studies at the APA-accredited Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine: she earned a Master of Science in Counseling and Clinical Health Psychology (2007), a Master of Science in Clinical Psychology (2010), and a Doctor of Psychology in Clinical Psychology (2013). She completed an APA-accredited pre-doctoral internship in Clinical Psychology at Friends Hospital in Philadelphia, PA, in 2012. She completed her post-doctoral clinical supervision hours at Wellspan Philhaven where she served as the Senior Clinic Director for a busy outpatient program.
