I am a double board certified Nurse Practitioner in Family Medicine and Psychiatry with 30 years of experience and a former professor at the College of New Rochelle here in New York. My undergraduate education is from New York University and I have masters degrees from George Washington University and Pace University. In addition to general psychiatry training, I have advanced specialty training in women's mental health, perinatal and reproductive psychiatry. I have also completed a fellowship in psychoanalytic psychotherapy at NYPSI. While my approach is based on evidence based practice and diagnostic skill *I will take time to listen and really hear what you say *value your feelings, opinions and experiences *consider your interests, priorities and limitations *explain all of your options including the pros and cons of each *work with you to create a personalized treatment plan I see adults age 18 and over with specialty training in women's mental health care, perinatal & reproductive psychiatry. My approach is centered around your personalized care. It starts with taking the time to listen and really hear what you have to say. We will work together as collaborative partners. I will provide you with recommendations if treatment is necessary, discuss available options and create your personalized plan because there is no one size fits all when it comes to mental health. Supportive psychotherapy and psychoeducation are provided as an important part of your treatment, but my primary focus is medication management, because mental health problems are no different than medical problems and the right medication can make a significant difference in your quality of life.
