Kimberly Thornton, MA, LPC, is a Christian Counselor and a two-time graduate of Geneva College. She received a Master of Arts Degree in Professional Psychology in 1998 and a Master of Arts in Counseling in 2014. In 2018, Kimberly established a solo private practice called Married-for-Life Counseling Services. Her primary focus is on marriage and family counseling, although she has also worked with clients dealing with addiction, depression, anxiety, parenting, women's issues, couples, adolescents, and family-related concerns. Kimberly's approach to counseling is to support clients in achieving their goals by walking alongside them, rather than directing or carrying them through the process. Kimberly has been married to her husband, Pastor Robert Thornton, for over 25 years. Their pre-marital process helped shape Kim’s passion for couples counseling. God told Kim that Rob was her husband 4 years before they married. Like Joseph, her husband did not initially receive this revelation, which led to much frustration and conflict. But through this process, Kim learned to believe God's word and trust Him with her heart. This experience established a faith foundation that has undergirded their relationship during the most difficult times.
