Introduction

My favorite book, The Alchemist, gave life to the quote, “and, when you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it". I believe that level of manifestation is how you arrived here. So... Welcome. Welcome. My name is Kourtnie (she/her/hers). I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Louisiana and a National Certified Counselor (NCC). I am a New Orleans (Algiers) native and a United States Navy Veteran; 🤎fulfilling my purpose by helping my community. EIC currently services adolescents and adults in the state of Louisiana via teletherapy. My experience includes addictions, schools, working with juvenile offenders, and both personal and professional experience with military personnel. My approach to therapy varies depending on what the client needs. I treat each client as an individual, with the understanding that a person is in a constant state of becoming and can recreate themselves as they exist to enhance their quality of life. I am particularly drawn to: existential therapy (focusing on free will and the search for meaning), cognitive behavioral therapy (change the way you think, change the way you live), meditation, rational emotive behavior therapy (consequences being based on beliefs, not activating events), reality therapy (seeing behaviors as choices; holding self accountable), and mindfulness practices. Fun Facts about Me... 1. #BoyMom times TWO💙 2. Family pets: a mini Aussie, a bearded dragon, 2 ducks, and a tortoise🤎 3. Next lifetime - Caterpillar me, please 🐛🦋 If things align, I look forward to learning some things about you as well. Positive Vibrations. Always. All ways. Thank you for stopping by.
