Kris has obtained her Bachelor’s in Psychology at the University of Iowa and her Master’s of Science in Counselor Education at Western Illinois University. Kris loves to travel in her free time and spend time with family, friends, and dog Misty as well as curl up with a good book near a lake or run through the crashing waves on a warm sandy beach. During her career, she has worked in a variety of capacities with schools, shelters, holistic centers, and mental health centers to support advocacy, awareness, cultural diversity, and disability education as well as the empowerment of women and children from a variety of cultures. Kris grew up as a military “brat” and was fortunate enough to live and travel abroad from an early age. This love of travel and learning to embrace new cultures and customs has inspired her to continually work on creating a mentality of diversity, awareness, and acceptance with the people she works with.
