From an early age, I knew I wanted to be a people helper. I was a math tutor and student peer counselor in high school, a mentor and youth leader in college, all of which were opportunities which helped me grow as a person and shape my passion to help and support people. I completed my degree in counseling in 2011 and have been in private practice for over 10 years. All these years and I still love working with people! If you never received therapy before, counseling is not about getting advice. It's about processing what you have going on and figuring out how to take next steps in the places of life where you feel stuck, discouraged, sad, or lost. Counseling is about having someone there with you to help you sort things out, support you, and even sometimes challenge you to move forward with your goals. My approach is traditional mixed with some unique training and certifications - I use cognitive behavioral but I also use my certified training and experience with neurotherapy (neurofeedback), integrative health, and brain health coaching to help my clients. I offer free phone consultations for anyone with concerns or questions about therapy.
