Introduction

Hi and welcome! I am Kristen, and am honored to partner with you on this journey. You deserve a safe place, to be authentically you and to heal. I hope to create that space with you. I view people holistically and believe in complete mind, body, and soul health. I am passionate about healthy marriages and families, believing the family system contributes to each person and how they experience life. At our core, we long to be deeply known and loved. I desire to help you discover what it means for you to be deeply known and loved and how to cultivate that in relationships. Therapy is an opportunity to help clients slow down and listen to what their bodies and heart tell them, integrating the many facets of their being. Connection cultivates and deepens healing, connection with the therapist, connection with your body and self, and with people in your life and the world around you. Together, we can help you feel connected and uncover new spaces for connection. Through learning to express your authentic self, we will walk together in the process of differentiation. "Differentiation is the active, ongoing process of defining self, revealing self, clarifying boundaries, and managing the anxiety that comes from risking either greater intimacy or potential separation." Murray Bowen defined differentiation as "the degree of resilience to the interpersonal contagion of anxiety." Differentiation helps us develop as a person. It allows you to be who you are in the presence of who they are; no matter who the they's are in your life. Boundaries give you the space and capacity to love people and yourself well. Trauma is anything that overwhelms our capacity to cope. As a trauma-informed therapist, I want to help increase insight of your pain, giving you tools to work through it so that it has less of a hold on your life. Whatever you have been through deserves a voice to be processed and understood. Therapy is unique for each person; I want to be curious with you and your story and encourage you as you discover new perspectives and insights. Your time here is intentional. Through counseling, we will piece together the broken fragments of your story and help unify relationships to create a more whole version of yourself. I am passionate about assisting clients in discovering resiliency within themselves so that no matter what life brings, there is hope and courage to make it through.
