I am originally from the Buffalo area. I completed my graduate work in Grand Forks, ND, where I was fortunate to work with a variety of people struggling with many different types of issues. My time in the Midwest allowed me to gain experience working with individuals that were in crisis and/or exposed to trauma. When I came back to Buffalo in 2006, I started working in the field of Crisis Intervention. I helped develop a successful police training program that focused on training law enforcement, and worked in direct service assisting individuals in crisis. Though I was successful in my work, I always felt something was missing and decided to take a huge leap and see clients in a private practice setting. I started my private practice in the Spring of 2016. I work with individuals that struggle with anxiety and depression, and have continued to work with First Responders and Law Enforcement assisting with training and providing treatment. I also have obtained training to work with pregnant and postpartum mothers as well as additional trauma training to assist those struggling with grief and loss. I specialize in the treatment of Depression and Anxiety. I work with adults, couples, families and teenagers. I also specialize in the treatment of women's issues, which include infertility, pregnancy, and postpartum depression/anxiety. As a Certified Lactation Counselor, I help new moms navigate the challenges balancing breast feeding and maintaining self care. I have worked in the field of crisis intervention for over 12 years with first responders and health care professionals providing support, treatment and training. Our lives can become complicated and intense, often we manage more than we can handle, its in our nature, because we have always been the person everyone can lean on. Sometimes, we need to gain insight and dedicate time to ourselves in order to learn how to navigate and thrive in our busy complicated world. Stress and trauma can affect our ability to control our emotions, and even though we feel overwhelmed and anxious, these feelings are normal and treatable. Please give me a call if you require assistance, I offer a free phone consultation.
