Kristin Nelson, PsyD, LP She/Her/Hers I am a Licensed Psychologist with over 20 years in the mental health field, 10 of those as a psychologist. I received my master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from the Minnesota School of Professional Psychology (MSPP) in 2008 and my Doctor of Psychology Degree from MSPP in 2011. Prior to receiving my doctorate, I worked with children and families in their homes, group homes, and an elementary school. I have also facilitated Multi-Family Adolescent DBT groups and provided individual DBT therapy to both adults and adolescents, in addition to receiving specialty trainings in EMDR, ExRP, TF-CBT, and play therapy. My clinical interests include depression, anxiety, ADHD, adjustment problems, OCD, trauma, attachment, and parenting concerns to name a few. I work with ages three and up and particularly enjoy helping families and parents learn and practice healthier communication styles and conflict resolution. I am passionate about providing evidence-based (proven effective by research) treatments while meeting clients where they are at and helping them get to where they would like to be in life. I bring humor and warmth to sessions with a direct, active, and collaborative style. I emphasize validation and create a non-judgmental atmosphere. In my free time I enjoy reading, jogging, cooking, baking, playing with my cats, and spending time with friends and family.
