Kristina is a former first responder, with emergency medical services and currently a Board Certified (NCC) Licensed Counselor with an M.A., with distinction in mental health counseling from Hofstra University. Kristina is licensed in NY as a Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) and in NJ as a Professional Counselor (LPC). Kristina is certified as an EMDR Trauma Therapist and is certified as a Psychiatric Rehabilitation Practitioner (CPRP), as well as a Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP). Kristina serves as a clinician for New York Law Enforcement Assistance Program (NYLEAP) where she coordinates clinical supports for first responders and military personnel, both active and retired. She is also the Director of Clinical Advisement for Beyond the Badge, where she provides clinical guidance as needed to Beyond the Badge NY and affiliated chapters. Kristina specializes in trauma and believes in treating the whole person, heavily focusing on multiple areas of wellness. She believes that trauma is an injury and with appropriate peer and mental health supports, the injury can heal.
