It is my job to help you access and actualize it. My name is Kyla (pronouns she/her/hers) and I am a licensed clinical social worker in the states of Kansas and Missouri. I believe we can all relate to a desire to be our best self and in my own search for meaning, I found social work. After graduating from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with degrees in Psychology and Gender and Women’s Studies, I pursued my Master of Social Work degree from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul Minnesota. I went on to complete a post-MSW fellowship at the University of California-Berkeley before landing in the KC area in 2017. I opened my private practice, Bennett Counseling, LLC, in February 2020. Over the years, I have found tremendous meaning working with individuals struggling with eating disorders and their families. Using my training in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and yoga instruction, I strive to challenge and support clients as they work towards renegotiating a healthy relationship with food and establishing a life worth living. In my private practice, I enjoy helping couples work through past hurts and reconnect with one another and help individuals manage the changing seasons of life, including workplace stress and burnout, relationship issues, anxiety, depression, and low self-esteem. My goal is to support and guide my clients as they seek to better themselves, learn healthy ways to cope with life's difficulties, gain insight into their thoughts and behaviors, and overcome past pain and suffering by creating corrective connections. Please call for a free consultation to discuss how I can assist you in reaching your goals! I look forward to meeting you.
