Thank you for taking the time to find out more about me. It’s important to find a counselor with whom you feel comfortable and whose skills and interests match your needs. I received Master of Science degrees in Rehabilitation Counseling and Vocational Evaluation from East Carolina University. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Pennsylvania/New York, Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Florida, and also a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor and Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist in North Carolina. Please see the list below of my many certifications. Since launching my career as a mental health counselor in 2011, I have helped thousands of clients develop resiliency skills and achieve their goals. I enable my clients to develop a more positive outlook on life and provide them with the tools they need to fulfill their potential. I am experienced in treating a wide range of conditions, such as mood and anxiety disorders, adjustment and career issues, substance use, anger, grief and loss, transition challenges, relationship problems and low self-esteem. Let me help you learn and find better ways to handle the issues that are standing in the way of your goals. I help clients live more toward their values, develop healthy coping skills and address the underlying issues that negatively affect their lives. I developed a specialty in helping active duty military members, veterans and their dependents while working at Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune. I also helped college students while working at various universities and at an inpatient/outpatient hospital psychiatric unit. I have worked with many other populations as well, and I would enjoy talking with you to learn how I can help you. I provide individual counseling sessions, family therapy, couples therapy and assistive technology training and evaluation to clients of all ages and backgrounds. I provide interventions that are culturally sensitive and unique to individuals’ needs. I encourage a safe space for open dialogue. I am very laid-back and direct. I ask my clients to be honest and direct because I find it helps us reach their goals. I enjoy humor and will use it when appropriate. I have a lot of experience incorporating technology into treatment and will use it when needed. I believe therapy is about challenging one’s self to have new experiences and being willing to learn from mistakes.
