Introduction

Laura Howell, LMHC believes that therapy is a courageous journey toward healing, growth, and self-discovery. With over 30 years of experience, she specializes in helping adults and teens navigate life’s challenges, including depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, relationship struggles, chronic stress, and major life transitions. She also enjoys working with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds and gender identities, fostering a deeply inclusive and affirming space. Laura takes a holistic, client-centered approach, integrating traditional therapy with mindfulness and somatic practices. As an authorized meditation teacher, she weaves self-awareness and self-compassion into her work, helping clients reconnect with their inner wisdom and strength. Whether you're feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or seeking deeper personal growth, Laura creates a warm and supportive environment where healing and self-discovery unfold naturally. Laura's professional journey has taken her through community mental health centers, school systems, inpatient programs, local health departments, and private practice. She holds a B.S. in Psychology from Towson University and an M.S. in Psychology from Loyola University in Baltimore, MD. Outside of her therapy work, Laura finds renewal in nature, hiking and beekeeping, enjoying live music, and spending time with loved ones—including her furry companions. She believes in the power of presence, connection, and embracing life’s ever-changing rhythm.
