Lauren Chan is a registered Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (APCC) with a Masters in Counseling from the University of San Diego. She is a compassionate counselor dedicated to fostering growth and positive change through a Person-Centered approach while integrating techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Psychodynamic Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Approaches, and Trauma-Informed Therapy. Additionally, she is trained in Somatic and Expressive Arts techniques. Throughout her professional journey, Lauren has held roles as a School Counselor, ESL Teacher, and Family Specialist at an adoption and foster care agency. Her career has taken her around the globe, providing her with a wealth of experience in supporting children, families, and at-risk youth from diverse backgrounds and communities. She specializes in providing culturally sensitive and trauma-informed care for clients impacted by anxiety, depression, low self-esteem and body image issues, relationship issues, emotional abuse, trauma, and more. Further, Lauren’s therapeutic expertise extends to social and cultural challenges such as identity development, cultural adjustment, intersectionality, Asian family dynamics, foster/adoption concerns, and issues unique to Cross Cultural Kids (CCK). Driven by her passion for promoting resilience and well-being, Lauren is committed to creating an inclusive space where her clients feel valued, understood, and supported. With empathy and dedication, her ultimate goal is to empower clients to overcome challenges, embrace their strengths, and lead fulfilling lives aligned with their values and aspirations.
