Let’s be honest: finding a therapist can be a very overwhelming task! It can be hard to find the right match and can be scary to truly allow yourself to be vulnerable when beginning sessions with a new therapist. I hear you and want to make sure you feel understood and respected in a collaborative therapeutic space together, without fear of judgment. My approach is eclectic, pulling from frameworks such as psychodynamic theory, person-centered therapy, and attachment theory. I use multicultural and feminist lenses while practicing with cultural humility to ensure that each client is seen both as an individual and in the context of their culture and life experiences. As a queer therapist, I have a particular interest in working with LGBTQ+ and BIPOC individuals, couples, families, and polycules, while being aware of my white identity. My areas of interest also include identity exploration, expression, marginalization, and intersectionality, and difficulties related to sex and intimacy. I have experience with topics such as gender identity, identity as a transracial adoptee, stress related to being a first-generation American, intersectionality and media representation, stress due to poverty, unemployment, internalized and external racism, and so much more. I have worked with clients of all ages, including toddlers and children, through adulthood. If you’d like to find out more or are ready to get started in therapy together, let’s schedule time for a consultation or first session together.
