Introduction

Hey there, I’m Lauren! I am a licensed clinical psychologist practicing in Ventura and Los Angeles counties. I received my master’s and doctoral degrees in clinical psychology from California Lutheran University. I am currently in private practice and am a staff psychologist at UCLA where I provide individual and group therapy, supervision, training, and consultation. I’ve been working in the mental health field in various settings and with various populations for over 10 years. At my core, my passion is helping individuals who have experienced trauma and are dealing with issues that arise during the perinatal period (prior to conception through postpartum). I began my trauma-focused specialty early on in my training and quickly observed that many common mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, eating disorders, etc. develop in response to trauma. My own transformation and journey as a parent led me to recognize the unanticipated challenges (and joy) of matrescence and a keen interest in assisting others as they navigate this season of life. My areas of clinical focus include trauma, reproductive mental health, anxiety and mood disorders, adjustment and transitional issues, identity concerns, working with high-achieving professionals, perfectionism, and self-compassion. I have completed advanced training and have significant experience treating trauma and other mental health issues such as anxiety with EMDR therapy. I also have advanced training in perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, loss and infertility, and postpartum trauma. I am a certified Perinatal Mental Health provider through Postpartum Support International. In my practice I strive to provide a therapeutic relationship that honors and affirms diversity and recognizes the complexity of each individual. I am passionate about providing care that is culturally sensitive and takes into consideration each patient’s intersecting identities and backgrounds. I have undergone and continue to seek out training and education that is multiculturally informed. Likewise, I am experienced and passionate about working with individuals from various ethnic, gender, sexual, and socioeconomic backgrounds, especially those who experience oppression, marginalization, discrimination, and belong to underserved populations. I consider myself an ally to the BIPOC, APIDA, LGBTQ+, and undocumented populations.
