We can often be our own worst critics, feeling overwhelmed by the sheer amount of “what if” scenarios that pop into our heads. Whether it shows up in our romantic relationships, academics, family dynamics, or in the workplace, anxiety can feel like an overprotective force in our heads that means well, but often latches onto perfectionism, urgency and control. For the past 8 years, it has been my privilege to work directly with clients from a variety of backgrounds to treat anxiety, depression, trauma and general life stress. I take an eclectic approach to therapy, drawing from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) skills, Exposure Response Prevention (ERP), and psychodynamic therapy, with an emphasis on self-compassion & mindfulness. Our sessions will feel conversational, allowing you to explore your feelings and build confidence in vulnerability with yourself and others. I bring humor and compassion to the therapeutic alliance, valuing and empowering your perspective, while also gently challenging any patterns you may be stuck in. I will actively listen to your experience with interest and empathy. I believe in equity across all identities and understanding how larger societal systems play a role in how we see ourselves in relation to the world. I am very vocal about asking for feedback from my clients to make sure they are getting exactly what they need out of therapy.
