How can you move towards becoming who you are meant to be in this moment? In seeking therapy, you may be trying to answer this question. We work to do this by building ground for the safe reflection of thoughts, feelings, emotions, and somatic experiences. Many people I work with have experienced trauma at an individual, community, or systemic level, and understandably find it difficult to process on their own. Perhaps you are struggling with symptoms of grief, anxiety, worry, and depression. Together, we will work to address that which is unfinished and what emerges for you to integrate balance and hope more fully into your life. I utilize a blended approach of theories, modalities, and techniques. I understand that often, the distress that manifests in people’s lives is directly connected to policy, systemic issues and oppression, including racism, sexism, and other -isms and phobias. My work is often to figure out what ways we can find hope for ourselves in this world. Remember: you are the expert of your own life. There is a great deal of research that indicates that one of the greatest predictors of positive outcomes in therapy is due to the quality of the therapeutic alliance, no matter what kind of therapy is used. It is my hope that if we aren’t a right fit, you keep trying to find a therapist who is. You deserve it.
