My name is Laurie Troumbly, Mom, recently promoted to Grandma, and I have been working in the mental health field since 2002 in various positions including direct care staff, ARMHS, Case Management, Substance Use/Treatment Facility Therapist, and Private Practice. Born and raised in Cass Lake, on Leech Lake Reservation, I am a direct descendant of White Earth Reservation. My family moved to the Grand Rapids area when I was 10, where I attended & graduated from Greenway High School. A local graduate of Itasca Community College, where my interest in Psychology, Mental Health, human behavior and understanding the brain and behaviors began. I was fascinated by the many factors of family, environmental, and biological that make us who we are. From there, I went on to complete my Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, and my Master's Degree in Clinical Counseling & Psychology, both from Bemidji State University. All while raising kids, & working full time. I have experience & worked for a local non-profit mental health & Substance use agency for 18+ years and in 2019 began a new journey of Private Practice and have been serving our community in this manner ever since! I thoroughly enjoy being able to help others. My niche and area of expertise include working with women, mothers, and teenagers. I use various orientations such as CBT, DBT, and Life Coaching techniques. My goal for you is to leave our office feeling hopeful, refreshed, and hopeful! Knowing you are not alone, and there is hope.
