Leigh Chavez, LCSW

Leigh is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Shamanic Reiki Master Practitioner and Sound Healer Level II in the state of New Mexico. She has skills working with children/adolescents and adults using holistic and psychotherapy interventions to assist clients in finding healing, resolutions and a path to a better future. Leigh will pull from her education, life and work experiences to inform an individual plan to help you achieve your life's purpose. Leigh pulls from a cognitive behavioral perspective (CBT) in that she believes we must be willing to be curious and question why we react the way we do and change what no longer is serving your needs to behaviors and thoughts that do. She may use dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) skills to support clients in adjusting their mindset. She will build off your strengths and resiliencies you have already developed and give you more to pull from. Leigh has a passion for working with children and she has found working with adults that they have wounded children that are forgotten in the past, but through inner child work we can change that. Leigh can use holistic interventions like reiki, crystal work, and sound healing to support client energy movement. It's only through challenges that we grow and become a better version of ourselves for the better. Leigh believes through meaningful work and a genuine intention any one can achieve what they put their minds to. Leigh is a genuine, empathetic, humorous and competent clinician with experience working with clients from different genders, races, cultures, and socioeconomic backgrounds in New Mexico. She is interested in working with clients that have a genuine interest in making themselves the best that they can be. Leigh believes we must adjust/change our thinking patterns to improve our wellbeing and believes it takes diligence and dedication to build a person’s best self.
